Mr A. J. Campbell was elected at a meeting of the New Education Fellowship in Christchurch to assume the presidency for the remainder of the year, Mr L. B, Freeman has been appointed to be the deputy on the Christchurch Urban Land Sales Committee of the chairman, Mr K. G. Archer. The appointment, which is made under the provisions of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, is announced in the latest issue of the Gazette. Mr A. F. Nicoll has retired from the staff of the Christchurch School of Art. The Canterbury University • College Council yesterday expressed appreciation of his services, first as director of the school, and later as a member of the staff, and good wishes for his quick recovery to health.
