RISINGHOLME CENTRE
WORK AUTHORISED BY CITY COUNCIL Approval of the efforts of the Risingholme committee to piocure a qualified organiser for the community centre to be established there was recorded by the City Council last evening on the recommendation of the reserves committee, and the council wul support the application to the Education Department for the services of a director. The council, it was decided, should in no way be responsible for the payment of salary. The committee reported that a heavy demand for the use of the grounds for picnics, similar to the demand for Abberley and Woodham Parks, was expected, and it recommended that a small shelter," with penny in the slot gas rings, should be built in the grounds for the use of the general public. This work, costing £25. and the installation of a water heater at a cost of £23. and the provision of outside lights were authorised. The appointment of honorary rangers nominated by the community centre and junior rangers under the supervision of headmasters, was decided upon;
