Mr and Mrs H. T. Parry, of Christchurch and formerly of Hokitika, have received information that their son. Squadron Leader L. H. Parry, has been appointed assistant-director of air operations. Air Department. Wellington. A water-colour of Akaroa by Mr Cranleigh Barton was presented to Ur W J Edginton at a recent meeting of the Akaroa Progress Association when he resigned his position as president of the association before leaving the district to live in Christchurch. Thei presentation was made by Mr W. Jacobson, a former president, and the Mayor (Mr F. Davis) paid a tribute to Dr. Edginton’s interest in the association. Mr S. Hollander was elected president.
