'Sir—The resolution of the Christchurch executive of the « - turned Services. Association ur« ing a strict review of all sine cue anneals prompts me to say that such Preview should include Govermnent departments. I was demobilised grade 4 but cannot get work for which I am qualified owing to the jobs being “protected.” I have waited 12 months for a vacancy to occp, but even the Rehabilitation Department seems up against a stone wall in deahng with Government jobs. Owing to war disabilities I really need the light lob l am specially qualified lor, but cann wait indefinitely, as three and a halt years of overseas service are hard on tebankteland.-Youg.eg^ February 16, 1944. [lt was pointed out by the District Manpower Office, Christchurch, tha as “Technician” appeared to desire employment with the Government, he ought to apply to the Public Service Commissioner, who makes Government appointments.]
