Bain in Taranaki
Rain fell throughout the greater part of Taranaki last night, giving rise to hopes that the dry spell,. which has lasted since November 9, has ended. Some falls occurred on Tuesday night, but it can now be said that the position has been eased. Not since 1928 has the province been so long without adequate rainfall, and the effect on dairy production has been severe.— (P.A.)
