FIRE PROTECTION
APPLICATION BY LOCAL BODIES Application .has been made by the City Council, the Waimairi County Council, and the Waimakariri River Trust for the gazetting of an area at Chaney’s a fire district under the Forests Act, which gives greater powers for the prevention and fighting of fires in plantations. The district is bounded on the north by the Waimakariri river, on . the west by the railway, on the east by the sea, and on the south by Turner’s road and the river Styx.
