THREE STATE MINES IDLE

INSUFFICIENT COAL FOR SHIPMENTS The trouble which was responsible for the Wallsend State mine being idle last week extended yesterday to the Liverpool and Strongman State mines. All three were idle yesterday following meetings of the employees. Dobson and Blackball State mines were working. With the three mines idle, the department’s commitments, which involve the supply of 1200 tons of coal to Westport by to-day for shipment, cannot be met. as only 200 tons were available. No indication was available yesterday when the mines would resume. It was reported that the Liverpool mine employees have gone on strike “in sympathy.”
