YOUTH HEALTH CAMPAIGN

ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CLUB HOLDS CAMP

The annual camp for boys of St. Christopher’s Club was held at Brooklands during the Christmas and New Year holidays and was attended by 90 boys ranging in ages from 13 years to 19 years. Sleeping under canvas, in a property handy to river and beach, the boys were afforded plenty of sun-bath-ing, swimming, and hiking and parents and friends of the club were entertained at a sports meeting before the breaking-camp ceremony. St. Christopher’s Club has been m existence for only three years with headquarters at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Manchester street. It is a club for boys run by boys and provides for both cultural and athletic activities. With the exception of the cooking, which was in the hands of experienced cooks, the whole arrangements were made by members of the club. The camp was the start of what promises to be a big move in the Youth Health Campaign and will be held annually.
