/ikvy\.tEAGUE: .party;:Very pleaisant and very profitable was the garden party oit.Saturday at the home of Mrs J. Gracroft Wilson, Helmore’s, road, by the Women’s branch of the Navy League. The party was arranged for the purpose of augmenting the sea cadets camp fund, and the commander of toe cadets. Commander Hugh Anderson, and the cadets themselves showed their appreciation of the effort made on their behalf by attending the gathering and helping hi many Ways, m a beautiful setting, beside rose gardens and masses of flowering shrubs, wellstocked stalls were arranged under the trees, from the lawn' the Burnham band, which was a great attraction, played selections. [ and . the sea cadets gave a display of-some aspects of .their work. Mrs Henry,Wyatt, president of the women’s branch of the Navy League, and Mrs'D. P. Dickinson supervised arrangements, Miss L. Cresweil and Mrs G. W. C. Smitbspn were gatekeepers, and the following were the stalls and’ stallholders:—(Sweets, Mesdames J. Murphy, Clive Crozier, and E. Combellack; cakes and produce, Mesdames E. C. Frater and A. Stewart; toys, Mesdames Donald Meyers and Gordon Gunn; tea, Mesdames A. C. Alexander,. J. S. Stanley. Misses M. Bain, A. Bowker, and Joan Burt; flowers, Mesdames A. Sandston, T. S. Critchley, S. S. Floyd, and helpers; surprise packets, Mesdames C. A. Myhre and L. A. Gordon: variety, Mesdames A. E. Ackroyd. L. P. Loneuet, and J. Hutchinson; competitions. Misses Janet Seymour and Mary Talbot; ice cream, Misses Joan Wilson, Valerie and Joy Reid, and Enid Arlow. The organising committee had aimed at clearing £IOO at the garden party, but this goal was exceeded by £JO. with some small returns yet to come.
