BOWLS A progressive doubles tournament was held by the Lyttelton Bowling Club on Saturday afternoon, J. Voyce won the leads and G. Burnlp the skips. Yachting An open handicap race for the Alma Cup was held by the Canterbury Yacht and Motor-Boat Club on Saturday. afternoon. There were 15 starters, and the race was sailed in a light north-easterly breeze The result was: Echo iJFirefly (J Coxon) 2, Juanita (H. Burberry) 3. Swimming Cup Presented A cup, to be known as the Torrens Memorial Cup, has been presented to the Lyttelton Men’s Amateur Swimming Club by Mr A. E. Torrens, of Corsair Bay, in memory of his son. Lieutenant A. Torrens, a foundation member of tne club, and its most outstanding perfomer in swimming events. Torrens was killed in action in, the Middle East last year.
