DAMAGE TO BOWKER FOUNTAIN
p An examination of the Bowk# fountain in Victoria square y est^ r “®; ' morning showed that several of tne glass lenses and reflectors had bee» broken by beer bottles thrown the bowl of the fountain. It had been suggested that the fountain, which has not been in use since the introduction of lighting restrictions, should be in order for a demonstration to be given to visitors to the South Island local bodies’ conference, but the examination showed that considerable rehabilitation work will be necessary , before it is again fit for service. The glass lenses and reflectors are not likely to be replaceable until after the war. GARDENERS!
