INDUSTRIAL MANPOWER

DECISIONS OF COMMITTEE In an appeal lodged on behalf of Miss Dorothy Hale against the decision of the Manpower Officer granting permission to the Kaiapoi Woollen Manufacturing Company, Ltd., to transfer her from employment in the examining section to other work in the factory, the Industrial Manpower Committee yesterday decided that the appeal involved determination of the question whether Miss Hale was an examiner under the award before and since the decision of the Manpower Officer, which /tvas now appealed from. The case involved an interpretation of the award, a matter on which the committee could not give a final decision, and one which should now be submitted to the appropriate court. The committee proposed to adjourn the case sine die to enable an authoratlve ruling to be obtained by the parties.
