The weather forecast for Canterbury, Issued at 5 p.m., by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Moderate variable winds, with north-easterlies at times near the coast. Weather fair to fine, with moderate to mild temperatures. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the Scuth Island is:— Moderate winds from a westerly quarter predominating. Weather cloudy, with occasional scattered rain. Temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather was fine and sunny yesterday, with a moderate north-east wind. The maximum temperature was 57.8 degrees. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was clear and a light south-east wind was blowing. The barometer, rising, registered SO.OOin (1015.9 millibars).
