U.S. COAL STRIKE
1 MR ROOSEVELT’S THREAT (Rec. 8,30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 30. “If the coalminers do not accept the board's decision on wages by Monday I shall take decisive action to see the coal mined. We can no more tolerate letting down coal production than letting down shipping supplies to the fighting men.” This was staled by Mr Roosevelt in a letter to the War Lahour Board.
