JAPANESE COMPANIES SEIZED

ACTION BY BRAZILIAN GOVERNMENT (Rec. II p.m.) 'RIO de JANEIRO, Oct. 29. Although Brazil is not at war with Japan the Brazilian Government has ordered the seizure of 25 Japanese enterprises, including the Mitsui-owned Bratac organisation with a capital of 1,000,000 dollars, which operates construction companies, banks, cotton mills, and mines. The greatest blow for the Japanese is the seizure of the Nippon Colonisation Corporation, exclusively controlled by the Tokyo Government, which cloaked a Japanese movemerit in Brazilian territory where it was planned to build secret airports for an attack on ‘the Panama Canal jointly with a German attach on Natal. The Nippon Corporation covered an area of about 5000 square miles.
