SUGAR FOR MAKING JAM

ISSUE OF THREE POUNDS NEXT MONTH (PA.) WELLINGTON, October 29. The Minister of Supply (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) announced to-day that the War Cabinet had decided to provide special allowances of sugar for jammaking during November and December. In addition to the ordinary ration of 31b of sugar for November, there would be available one allowance of 31b for jam-making in the home which could be obtained at any time during November or December. Mr Sullivan said that the first allowance for jam-making was being made available earlier this year so that housewives could take advantage of the early fruits. It was hoped that stocks would permit the release of further sugar for jam in January and the subsequent months. Coupon Y2 in the new ration book would be available for the three pounds available in November and December,
