The Dwelling is an exceptionally wellbuilt building, being erected only with the best of materials, while the outbuildings are good and sufficient for the successful working of the farm. “Stockgrove,” well known as one of North Canterbury’s best agricultural and lamb raising properties, was originally part of the Teviotdale Estate, and has only changed hands once during the last forty years. A large portion of the Property is capable of producing good cereal crops, while the sustaining and fattening qualities of its pastures are of the very highest standards, as evidence of this fat sheep and lambs drawn from "Stockgrove” have always commanded the very highest prices, both locally and on the Home Markets, while some of the late Mr Gates’s successful Racehorses were bred and fed on “Stockgrove.” The Homestead is situated on a hill and commands a wonderful view, while the outbuildings are suitable for the working of the property.
