ACCIDENTS

MAN RECEIVES FATAL INJURIES FALL FROM STAGING AT LYTTELTON Falling 20 feet a staging while working on a vessel in dry dock at Lyttelton yesterday afternoon, twocarpenters received serious injuries from which one of them later died. The men injured were Charles Rous, aged 47, of 21 Cross street. Linwood, and Clinton Holliss, aged 49, of 81 Canterbury street, Lyttelton. Rolls received head and internal injuries, and Holliss a fractured left arm and ribs. They were attended by Dr, C. H. Up* bam at Lyttelton, and were admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where Rolls died last evening. According to a report from the hospital, Holliss’s condition is now satisfactory. FATAL ELECTRIC SHOCK (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Sept. 2. Frederick Ditchfield, aged 37, of Trentham. a Hutt Valley Power Board employee, was killed by an electric shock while working at Mungaroa yesterday. He was married, with four children.
