DEATH OF PRESIDENT OF CHINA

NEW ZEALAND’S SYMPATHY (P.A.) WEL -INGTON, August 7. A telegram expressing the sympathy of the Government and people of New Zealand with the people of China in the death of their President, Mr Lin Sen, has been sent to the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser), who is also Minister of External Affairs. Mr Fraser’s telegram is as follows: “The Government and people of New Zealand learnt with profound sorrow of the death of the President of China, and they extend their sincere sympathy in the loss of an honoured leader who has rendered such long and distinguished service to his country.”
