The Leader of the Opposition, Mr S. G. Holland, will resume active leadership of his party in the House of Representatives when the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Bill comes up for consideration next week. His throat has benefited from rest, but he will not speak more than is necessary in the meantime because of the forthcoming election campaign.—(F.O.P.R.) Mr T. W. West was appointed last evening to represent the board of governors of the Christchurch Technical College on the Christchurch Boys’ Vocational Guidance Advisory Committee. Mr G. D. Simpson, who has represented the associations of employers on the board of governors of the Christchurch Technical College for the last six years, has advised the board of his retirement. Mr J. B. Johns has been nominated by the employers to fill the vacancy. Mr Arnold Greenwood has been elected to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr S. Baird, for the Christchurch urban area of the Canterbury Education Board, Mr Greenwood is chairman of the Shirley Intermediate School Committee, and chairman of the Richmond School Committee. The only other candidate was Mr Augustus Floranco.
