PARADE THROUGH CAIRO
UNITED NATIONS DAY (NZ.E.P. Official News Service) , CAIRO, June 22, New Zealand-manned Sherman tanks •.rundled through Cairo streets at the head of an impressive parade of Allied forces in celebration of United Nations Day, and all along the route enthusiastic crowds cheered the marching man Mobile units representing the Bth Army divisions, which won the battle for Egypt and took part in the North African campaign, 5000 men, as well as tanks and artillery from other mechanised units, passed the saluting base, Maori infantry came in for their schare of applause with their deeds on the battlefields fresh in the minds of Cairo people, A New Zealand band also took part in the parade. MajorGeneral L. M. Inglis and Lady Freyberg were among those on the official platform.
