ARMY CONSIDERING POSITION The whole position of officers of the New Zealand Army in relation to the manpower situation is still under consideration. For this reason statements that all category A officers will be posted to the 2nd N.Z.E.F. with the rank of temporary sergeant if they decline the opportunity of joining the R.N.Z.A.F. are described in authoritative military quarters as very premaTliere are a very large number of young officers serving in home defence units who are becoming restive because they have not been able to go overseas, and in order to satisfy the Army’s requirements and also accommodate these officers the Army is trying to devise some plan by which this can be done. No decision has yet been reached in this direction.
