BY-ELECTIONS BILL PASSED
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. June 11. When the House of Representatives met this morning the By-Elections Postponement Bill which was introduced the previous evening, was put through the remaining stages and passed without discussion. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr S G. Holland) said that the measure had been introduced after consultation with the Opposition, and it was believed that it would meet a very general desire to save the expense of by-elec-tions. which would be so close to the General Election.
