WAR PENSIONS
Sir,—Here are my thanks to the Government, which Mr Norton Wris-hV has been looking for. A full pensioner's increase is £1 weekly. The half pensioner receives 10s increase ' making a. difference of 30s. If the halfpensioner earns 30s a week, he pays tax on it. If he is sick one month and loses work, he is not allowed to make it up. If the full pensioner dies from any cause, his wife gets £3 a week. If the half pensioner dies from war disability his wife gets 25s a week. If he dies from any other cause, his wife gets nothing. The full pensioner also holds a free first-class raihvav ticket to travel from any station to any station, at any time. I pointed out these anomalies to the heads recently, and the astounding reply I received was that full pensioners' dependants were entitled to more than others' dependants.r*Yours, etc..
