SALT
Sir,—Noticing that the Government has made the salt industry essential calls to mind the late Dr. Thacker’s journal “Health,” in which he warned people to consume salt sparingly. Too much affects the blood, and is the cause of much ill-health. It has been known to cause the death of animals when an excess amount has been added to their food. Most animals relish salt as a lick, and in that manner it is left to their discretion. Many of us abuse our palates until we get a rude awakening.—Yours, etc., TRY LESS SALT. May 16, 1943.
