N.Z.E.F. PHOTOGRAPHER’S WORK

(N.Z.E.F. Official News Service) CAIRO, May 12. Mr Harold G. Paton, the original official photographer for the N.Z.E.F. in the Middle East, has been photographing New Zealanders on every battlefront of North Africa during the last two years, and in recognition of his work his rank has been raised to commissioned status. A photographer of the Auckland “Star” before the war, he possesses news sense in covering the war in pictures, and this work has received praise and recognition outside New Zealand. “Time” and “Life” published some of his work, and the fullpage photograph of General Freyberg in the battlefield is widely known.
