MURDER CHARGE

FURTHER REMAND GRANTED A remand until May 13 was granted on the application of the police when John Hector McAulay (Mr D. W. Russell) was charged in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday with the murder of Margaret Wilhelmina Webster at Ashburton on March 16. Mr E. C. Levvey presided.

Detective-Sergeant H. Nuttall, in asking for the remand, said that ’by May 13 it might be possible to fix a date for the hearing of the charge.
