MILK

Sir, —Your case for the pasturisation of all milk for the city’s requirements would be more convincing had your facts been applicable to, the Christchurch supply. As it is, your evidence is based on large cities in England and elsewhere, where slum conditions are known to be prevalent and the source of supply far distant. It has been stated by the most competent authority that the Christchurch milk supply is the best in the southern hemisphere and possibly compares favourably with any city in the world. The Fresh Milk Association has a policy, which, if carried out, will ensure to the consumer fresh whole milk of the highest known standard. —Yours, etc., H BLISS Heathcote, April 6, 1943.
