1,000,000 UNEMPLOYED IN U.S.
. ♦ (Rec. 10 p.m.) WASHINGTON. April 3. The Census Bureau reports that the'’ number of unemployed on March 31 was 1,000,000, approaching “the irreducible minimum.’’ The figure compares with 3,600,000 last March, and 10.983,000 in 1937. More than 400,000 have been absorbed since the middle of February, making a total labour force of 51,000,000.
