FRIDAY (Before Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M.) TRAFFIC BREACHES For riding cycles at night without lights offenders were fined as follows, except where it is otherwise indicated:— George Dickson, 10s; Eileen Sandra Hellyer, ordered to j pay costs; Remus Gordon Lllley, 10s; Harold Price, 10s; Leonard Schimanski, 10s; Frank Nelson' Stanton, 10s; William Muir Ward, ordered to pay costs; Richard • William Webster, 10s; and James Ernest Boyd, 10s. Colin Boyd was fined 10s for having no warrant of fitness for a motor-cycle and 20s for falling to report an accident. On a charge of driving without due care, and attention he was ordered to pay costs. For riding a motor-cycle at night without a light and for having no licence to drive, Lawrence Donald Carr was fined 10s on each charge. Allott Gilbert Gallagher pleaded guilty to charges of not having sufficient lights on his motor-cycle, failure to stop when warned to do so by a police officer, and having nq warrant of fitness for nls motor-car. On each of the first two charges Gallagher was fined 10s and ordered to pay costs on the third. For having no warrant of fitness lor his motor-cycle and for having no driver's licence Trevor La Vavasour was fined 10s on each charge. Robert Noble' Pye. for failing to give way to a cyclist approaching from the right when there was a possibility of a collision,' was fined £2. For having no warrant of fitness for a motor-cycle Wilson Rawlinson was fined ss. Harold Hill Telford, who pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving a mofor-i car without reasonable consideration for others, was ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution. PROBATION EXTENDED A \v°man of 24 years, whose name was suppressed, was admitted, to a further term of probation for 12 months. She was charged with a breach of her probation order. CHILDREN’S COURT Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M., presided at a sitting of the Children’s Court yesterday. Two boys, each nine years, were charged with breaking and entering the premises of Dalgety and Company, Ltd, and committing theft, and with breaking and entering the premises of Cooper and Pryce and committing theft. The case was adjourned for six months, the two boys in the meantime to be placed under the supervision of the Child Welfare Officer. Restitution of £4 19s lOd was ordered to be made. A youth of 18 years, charged with assault. and another of 16 years charged with the theft of a wristlet watch valued at, £3 10s. were admonished and discharged.
