For killing silverfish “S” advises a mixture of one part of Paris green to four parts of powdered starch. The mixture is poisonous and should be kept out of the way of children. "War Time and Army Needs” writes that in seaweed washed up on the coasts of Scotland, Ireland, England, and Japan researchers have found “an inexhaustible source of low-cost domestic raw materials for the processing of silk and wool.” The writer suggests that a similar enterprise could be started in New Zealand.
