OBLIGATIONS OF EMPLOYERS
REGISTRATION OF RESERVISTS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, February 24.
• The Minister of National Service (the Hon. A. McLagan) drew attention to-day to the responsibility placed upon employers for ensuring that all members of their staffs have complied with obligations under the National Service Emergency Regulations. Now that the nineteenth ballot, comprising men in the 41-45 age group, had been gazetted, said the Minister, every eligible male between the ages of 18 and 45 inclusive, whether single or married, should by this time have been called up for military service and he said he wished to impress on employers that it was an offence to employ an unregistered reservist. Employers should realise that they owed it not only to themselves but to the generaj war effort to see that everyone was playing a full part in the performance of obligations imposed on him under the regulations.
