GERMANS WITHDRAW IN TUNISIA To-day’s Allied communique from North Africa says that the British and American forces in central Tunisia have forced the enemy to withdraw in the area north and north-west of Kasscrin. Agency reports say that the Germans have been thrown hack to the mouth of the Kasscrin Pass and that large numbers of prisoners have been taken. The enemy is being heavily attacked by the Allied air forces as he retreats. —London, February 24. GANDHI’S HEALTH IMPROVED To-day's bulletin on Mr Gandhi';-: health says that Ins general condition shows a slight improvement. He is Cheerful, and his strength show's no sign of further deterioration.—London. February 24. NEW RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE The beginning of a new Russian offensive in the area northeast of Bryansk is reported from Berlin. The Russian attack is stated to have begun on Monday after an intensive artillery bombardment. No such new offensive has yet been mentioned from Moscow—London, February 24.
