OUT-PATIENTS’ DEPARTMENT “I am glad that something is to be done. The out-patients’ department has been a disgrace, as people have had to hang about for two or three hours before they receive attention,” said Mrs J. N. Clarke when the report of the finance committee was before members at a meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board yesterday. The committee reported that approval had been given for the establishment o| part of the out-patients’ department in St. Andrew’s Sunday. School Hall. Alternatives were under consideration for necessary alterations to the building.
The chairman (Mr L. B. Evans) said that discussions had taken place with the doctors to secure more hours from them at the department. “Some have agreed to do this,” he said, “and others are considering it.”
