DESERTION CHARGES
CO URT-MARTIAL SENTENCES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 23. The sentence of a general courtmartial which tried Private Jack Reynard on Saturday has been promulgated. Found guilty of deserting, he was giver, a year's imprisonment with hard labour. Ho was absent from July 13, 1942. till February 16. 1943. Sentences were recently imposed by district court-martial as follows: Gunner Robert Daniel Waldie, found guilty of deserting and losing by neglect his clothing, etc,, imprisonment with hard labour for eight months and stoppages of pay to make good £5 18s: Gunner Trevor Mervyn Scott, for similar offences. one yerr's imprisonment with hard labour with stoppages of pay to make good £6 Ifis. Gunner Robert Bertram Penny, for deserting, one year's imprisonment with hard labour; Private Melvin Leonard Fenemor, for deserting, detention for 112 days.
