BUILDINGS FOR DEFENCE
PROGRAMME UNDER REVIEW "The whole defence building programme is again under review by the Government,” said the Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) in an interview yesterday. “That applies to all of the fighting services.” The Minister said that in certain other parts of the country provision had been made to meet the increased demand for storage accommodation for equipment and war materials and for other purposes, and there was still a fairly large building programme to be proceeded with. In the main, it would comprise storage accommodation, because equipment as it came to hand had to be stored and cared for. 'ln addition, New Zealand had to provide for the requirements of certain personnel who had come here.
