TRAIN DELAYED THROUGH ENGINE FAULT

A tyre breaking on one of the two engines hauling the InvercargillChristchurch train early yesterday morning caused a delay of 18 minutes at Parcora, south of Timaru. The engine was detached from the train, and a relieving engine was employed from Timaru to Christchurch. The train arrived at Christchurch at 7.59 a.m., 41 minutes late, the additional delay having been caused by greasy rails south of Oamaru.
