VICEREGAL
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 11. The Governor-General (Sir Cyril Newall) and Lady Newall, attended by Major C. J. Holland-Martin. returned to Wellington from Wanganui this evening.
The Hon. P. C. Webb, Minister of Mines, and the Hon, R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, arrived at Grcymouth yesterday from Westport, and later went to Hokitika. Mr Scmpic will be entertained at dinner by members of the Westland County at Hokitika on Monday evening, in recognition of his services* to local body progress on the West Coast.
In recognition of 25 years’ service at the Rangiora High School, the principal (Mr J. E. Strachan) svas presented with gifts at the break-up ceremony at the school yesterday.
The Rev. K. D. Androws-Baxter has arrived in New Zealand tn take the cure of St. Thomas’s Church, Wellington. Mr Andrews-Baxter between 1924 and 1934 was stationed in various parishes at, Timaru and Dunedin, and in 1934 ho transferred to Albany, Western Australia, a charge which he has recently resigned.
