MANPOWER
Sir,—l endorse “Soldier’s Daughter’s,” “U.S.A.’s,” and “Soldier’s Sister’s” remarks on allowing single fit men to be manpowered out of doing their duty and taking the fathers of three and four children to be sent overseas. It is an appalling state of affairs in a British country. I think the community at large should launch a general meeting and demand that no married men with children be taken while there are fit single men 1o go. Then call on the married ones in their turn —the childless first and ; then, if required, the ones with children,— Yours, etc., _ SOLDIER'S WIFE OF LATE WAR. December 8, 1942.
