ARMY ATHLETIC MEETING

DIVISIONAL FIXTURE PLANNED

RESULTS OF BRIGADE EVENTS

As a preliminary to a South Island Divisional athletic meeting to be held on Saturday afternoon, a brigade meeting was held at Rugby Park last evening. Competitors at the meeting had been selected as the result of unit competitions. The winners will represent their brigade at the Divisional meeting, which will be held at Rugby Park, and at which Army athletes from all parts of the South Island will be present. The most successful unit at last evening's meeting, which was controlled by the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, was the C.Y.C., which scored 51 points. Central Battalion was second with 28 points, and Field Ambulance third with 19 points. Results were;— 100 Yards—First heat: T. Ryan (Div. H. 1, Webb (Southern Bn.) 2, Broomhall (C.Y.C.) 3.
