PARADE OF HOME GUARD

BATTALIONS Six Christchurch battalions of til# Home Guard will be inspected by tB District Director (Colonel G. E. fKingscote) in North Hagley Park 2.15 to-morrow afternoon. After tig inspection, Colonel Kingscote take the salute at a march past. 1® bands of the Christchurch East awl Christchurch South Battalions wul parade. The parade will be address® by Colonel Kingscote. It is expected that there will be a large attendant of the public to see one of the i ar £®“ t military parades ever held in Christ* church, with about 4000 men. The parade will be commanded w the Group Director (Lieutenant-Colon#! D. S. Murchison, D.5.0.). The battalions taking part and their COW* manding officers are:—ChristchUKn North (Major S. Mair), Christchurch West (Major E. H. Buckeridg#). Christchurch East (Major G. Bums. Christchurch South (Captain H. 6McCleary, acting commander), ley (Major R. E. Bibby), Avon (Major H. T, Penrose). . The Banks Peninsula Battalion V holding .its first battalion parade tomorrow, The earlier part of the day will be spent in training and in tue afternoon there will be a march p#** Home Guard officers state that tw parade has been arranged at consW* erable trouble and expense, so that Guardsmen in scattered units may res* lise their part in the whole.
