CHILDREN DESERTED
CUSTODY TO THE FATHER
The custody of six children was awarded to the father when Mr Justice Northcroft pronounced a decree absolute in a divorce case yesterday in Christchurch. The petitioner was Michael Joseph Swords, labourer, of Christchurch (for whom Mr K. W. Walton appeared), and the respondent Florence Mary Swords. The parties were married in Christchurch on February 26, 1921, and the respondent deserted her husband in August, 1936. His Honour: Have all the children been associated with the father since the disruption of the marriage in 1836? Counsel; That is so.
