MR H. B. LUSK APPOINTED
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, December 3. The appointment of Mr Harold Butler Lusk, M.A., LL.B., acting-headmas-ter of King's College, to be headmaster in succession to Lieutena'nt-Colonel J. N. Peart, D.5.0., is announced. Colonel Peart died of wounds in the Middle East in September. t . Mr Lusk, who has been in charge ">1 King's College since Colonel . joined the forces in 1939, is^** - -tpi known throughout New u U. only as a teacher, but also p’s a fron.rank cricketer and golfer in'his younger days. A member of an old Auckland family, he was educated ai Christ’s College, Christchurch. a na Auckland University College. . He began his teaching career m 1894 under the Auckland Education Board, and later was for about w years on the staff of Christ’s Collegeincluding two years on exchange ai Rugby School. In 1920 Mr Lusk came to King’s College. In his long cricketing career m Lusk represented New Zealand, Auckland, and Canterbury, and played 1 ipany notable matches. He was a par" ticularly fine opening batsman an slip field. He was the New Zealanu amateur golf champion in 1910i ..®ac has won more than 30 open meeting and championships. .
