S. G. HOLLAND’S MEETING

Sir,—l have a grievance which I wish to veptilate. For the last week I have read by advertisement in “The Press” that I must keep Friday evening clear, that it would pay me to do so, that I would hear in no uncertain terms something which my morning paper could not publish. In short, I was led to believe that inner secrets only known to Cabinet Ministers would be divulged to John Citizen if he attended the meeting held by Mr S. G. Holland at the Radiant Hall on Friday, November 27. I must say I was vastly intrigued. So I strolled along to the Radiant Hall prepared for the worst, and, believe me, it was worse than I thought—l was refused admittance. It appears that to gain admittance one had to have the aassword. Even “reporters” didn’t know this mysterious password and the “gentlemen of the press” were also turned down. So I can see the joke in the advertisement which stated we would hear what the press could not publish. I went home very disappointed because I still would like to hear the “truth about the miners” and why the Leader of the Opposition left the War Cabinet. — Yours, etc., SOCRATES. December 1, 1942.
