Manpower Question

Recommendations on the subject of manpower at a recent conference called by the Canterbury Progress League are to be placed before the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser) by a deputation from the league. The members of the deputation, which was appointed at a meeting o* the league last evening, are the vice-president (Mr S. P. Taylor), the chairman of the agricultural committee (Mr D. W. Wcslenra), the representative of the Chamber of Commerce on the league (Mr W. S. MacGibbon) and the secretary (Mr P. R. Climie). The Canterbury members of Parliament are to be asked to support the deputation.
