GRANTS FROM ART UNION PROFITS

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, December 2. Christmas gifts by way of grants totalling £IO,BIO have been made by the Government to a number of charitable and philanthropic bodies from art union surplus profits. The largest grants went to the New Zealand Crippled Children Society and the Order of St. John, each receiving £750. Other bodies which benefited received amounts ranging from £25 to £250.
