PEACE PROPOSALS EXPECTED

PROBABLE GERMAN ACTION LONDON. Nov. 25. Britain and the United States are expecting at any moment a hailstorm of peace proposals from Berlin and they are preparing for their uncompromising rejection, states a correspondent of the “Christian Science Monitor.” _ The correspondent says it is authoritatively stated that the rejection of these proposals will have the comp.ete and unqualified backing of Russia. Authorities having access to information reaching the Government from many directions do not doubt that Hitler at present is carefully preparing a peace offensive with the double purpose of (1) gaining a breathing spell, and (2) sowing disunity among the Allies. His expected methods include a dramatically-staged radio appeal to the world by Hitler or Vatican mediation or intercession by a neutral State, probably Spain
