Consideration of a reduction in radio licence fees will have to be deferred til] essentia] development work planned by the National Broadcasting Service is completed after the war, according to advice received by the New Zealand Farmers’ Union from the Minister in Charge of Broadcasting (the Hon. D. Wilson). The plans, he says, envisage the completion of a national chain of stations to provide better reception in certain districts, and the provision of studios and accommodation.—(P.A.) Several inquiries have already been feceived at the office of the Otago ’rimary Production Council about the tractor-driving classes which are to be held in Dunedin in March. Two of these came from girls in country districts, who wish to learn how to use tractors. The girls are already helping their parents on the land. In due course, all the applications will be con■idered by the local office of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary and the Primary Production Council.
