The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Moderate north-easterlies near the coast, otherwise winds light and variable; weather fair, apart from some morning low cloud or mist; temperatures moderate. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island Is as follows: Moderate easterly to northerly winds; weather for the most part fair to cloudy, but some scattered mist or drizzle still likely in the north; temperatures moderate.
