CHRISTCHURCH BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Plunket rooms, 65 Chester street, Mrs J. Cracroft Wilson presiding. Mrs Cecil Wood gave gn interesting account of the meeting of the Dominion Council, which she had recently attended at Wellington. For the Plunket rooms, Nurse Allan reported as follows:—Prenatal section: Expectant mothers interviewed for the first time, 39: return visits, 188; cases under observation, 147. Postnatal section; New baby cases, city and suburbs, 169; out-stations, 24. Visits to homes, city and suburbs, 598; out-stations, 99. Visits to rooms: Central, 1713 adults, 931 babies: suburban, 2082 adults, 2071 babies; out-stations, 399 adults, 313 babies. Number of babies under supervision l 2804. Pre-school section: Visits to central rooms 209, suburban 59, out-stations 55; under supervision, 2694. „ , For the Lady King Karitane Hospital, the matron (Miss Gibbs) reported that 22 babies had been admitted, and 21 discharged; 11 mothers had been, admitted to the mothercraft section, and 12 discharged. Gifts of eggs, were gratefully received from the Oxford sub-branch and from Mrs H. S. Ingram, Culverden. Donations were also received from the Culverden, Loburn, and Opawa-St. Martins subbranches. Sources of admission were Belfast, Ashburton, Lyttelton, Springston, Amberley, Reefton, Rangiora, Greenpark, Christchurch and suburbs.
